Sasha Klimczak

Site Lead, High School Access & College Readiness

Originally from New Jersey, Sasha has been working with our middle team for over 2 years and with middle school students for over 5 years.  Before moving out to the Bay Area, she was based in New York City where she spent 2 years running the girls program for an organization called Harlem Lacrosse  – providing mentorship, academic support, and of course coaching the sport of lacrosse to a group of middle school girls.

Before that, she spent a few years writing grants for a domestic violence agency and immediately after college she lived in Vietnam for 2 years teaching ESOL to all ages – and that’s where her love of travel and eating all kinds of cuisines was born.

B.A., Vassar College

What makes working at First Graduate meaningful to you?

The work we do at First Graduate is meaningful to me because growing up I had so many important mentors helping me along the way – my parents, my older sister, coaches, friends, and teachers – and I would not be where I am today without their guidance and pushing. I feel lucky I get to try every day to help our students reach their potential just as my mentors helped me!
