2nd Annual All Access College Fair

First Graduate® was proud to recently host the 2nd Annual All Access Admissions Fair, the only college fair (to our knowledge) in San Francisco that focuses specifically on first-generation students.

First Graduate® high school students and parents attended and we also invited students from partner organizations Leadership High School, Mission Graduates, SEO Scholars, and the ASAP program from Mission High School.

Over 25 colleges and scholarship agencies attended (see below for the full list), from near and far, to meet with our students to teach them about the many opportunities available on their campuses and within their programs. Over 120 students attended the fair and many of the college representatives commented on our student’s firm handshakes, great eye contact and thoughtful questions. It’s no surprise to us that our students showed up well, but it’s always nice to hear this!

Congrats to our students, partners, and our college access team (Michael Paz, Marriah Humphrey, and Aileen Pagdanganan) for putting on a successful event!

FIRST GRAD’S SCHOLARSHIP TEAM

Despite how difficult they can be to get, it’s impossible to overstate the importance of scholarships. Especially for a first-generation student, a scholarship can be the difference between being able to go to college and not.
