Exploring Leadership Social Enterprise Pitch Night

Last week I had the honor of attending Yinia’s (she’s a high school senior, or FG 11 if you’re in the know) presentation at Exploring Leadership Social Enterprise Pitch Night.

With just a few hours of preparation, she and her group created a business plan for an app that addressed voter rights and awareness. After pitching to a group of “investors”, I’m proud to say that Yinia’s group won the competition!

The Exploring Leadership program at CORO focuses on preparing students to be civically aware and assume leadership roles in their communities. Yinia and her entire cohort will be presenting on law enforcement accountability at the end of the summer and we’ll be sure share.

To Everyone Who Attended Cap & Gown 2023: Thank You!

As we celebrate our newest graduates, remember that first-generation students can move from sixth grade through college graduation and into meaningful careers because of you and your support! And we couldn’t do it without the help of our corporate supporters: Hamilton Zanze, Dodge & Cox, Accenture, Adobe, KPMG, BSSP, Millennium Career Advantage, and GoodRx.
