FG Visits WORKDAY

First Graduate® students just got back from a wonderful trip to WORKDAY! Thank you to everyone for your participation and support in making this a wonderful learning experience for all our students!

This is the second year that Workday hosted our students at their work site. They provided transportation in a Lexus bus that drove us to San Mateo. As well as amazing, tasty, abundant food. And all students received new backpacks! All these gestures made our students feel special and welcomed.

The focus of the visit was to expose First Graduate® college students to a corporate setting to demonstrate to students that they can also work in a state of the artwork office like Workday if they choose to follow that corporate path.

The highlight for First Graduate® students was listening from Workday employees about their education and career path and realizing that you are not just limited to work on the field of your major. After the one on one session, the students had with the employees at Workday, the take away practical skills students took with were building your network, working on your resume and practicing interview skills are the practical tools first-generation students need to enter their dream job and make a meaningful impact in their community!

We deplore the violence that has become all too commonplace in schools, and our hearts ache for the young people and adults targeted at Rudsdale Newcomer High School in Oakland. Violence anywhere is abhorrent. The prevalence of guns as a means to
