First Graduate® Annual Board Retreat

Earlier this month, the First Graduate® board of directors gathered here at our office to participate in our annual board retreat. It is perhaps the most important meeting of the year for our board because they get to spend an entire day together having expansive conversations about our future.

The retreat also provides an invaluable opportunity for board members to build strong relationships with each other. As board president Dinyar Mistry said in his opening remarks, “the board retreat is often how boards go from a group of individual thinkers to a team.”

This year we had an amazing turnout for the board retreat, engaging conversations, and by the time the day was over everyone left feeling like we had achieved our goals with room to spare. Personally, I have to say that I was blown away by the level of engagement from the board and their willingness to step forward to take on challenges.

I am truly excited by the opportunity to work with this team throughout the year and beyond as First Graduate® continues to grow and make college-going an option for all students in San Francisco.
