Students Present on Social Media Strategy

Over the course of the past semester two First Graduate® students, Derrick Ly (FG5, Chapman University) and Jose Luis Sanchez (FG8, Wesleyan University) participated in a social media bootcamp internship with LinkedIn. Derrick and Jose Luis spent 5-weeks learning from social media experts about how to best leverage the LinkedIn platform to connect with other professionals, students, volunteer, and donors.

After their social media bootcamp came to a close, the students spent the second part of their internship applying the skills they learned to help First Graduate® connect more deeply with our alumni who are spread throughout the country.

The final step in their semester-long internship was a series of  presentations to First Graduate® staff and the College Success Network on social media best practices and how organizations might employ those practices to better connect with their students.

In attendance at the presentation were 6 different organizations, as well as volunteers from LinkedIn and Google who worked closely with our students throughout the semester. A special thank you to Sandy White and Luis Baez who mentored the students during their time at LinkedIn.

Violence anywhere is abhorrent. The prevalence of guns as a means to
