Leadership Transition

On behalf of the First Graduate® Board of Directors, I’m sharing an update on the leadership of First Graduate.

Jose Rivas has decided to spend more time with his family; therefore he’s made the difficult decision to step down as Executive Director. Jose will act as First Graduate’s Controller  through the end of 2019.

Jose has made significant contributions to the organization; please join me in thanking Jose for his service and wish him the best.

We didn’t need to look far for our next Executive Director. The Board and I are pleased to elevate Terri Forman, currently Senior Director, Philanthropy and Marketing, to our next Executive Director.

Terri has served First Graduate® since September, 2012, primarily focusing on Development and Marketing Communication. She has also developed meaningful relationships with donor investors, corporate and foundation allies, and community partners.

Her prior work includes leadership roles at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center, the Unity Council, MentorNet, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Anti-Defamation League, Congregation Emanu-El, and United Way Bay Area.

This appointment is effective June 1st 2019.

Please also join me in congratulating Terri for her elevation.

Thank you for your continued support. Together we’re making a big impact in changing the trajectory for first generation students in our San Francisco.

Regards,

Dave Marsey

All of this support-driven success is only possible because of the contributions from our donors. That’s why we’re offering you the opportunity to support our generation-changing organization with donations to our end-of-fiscal year campaign. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of this month to sustain the positive impact we have on our First Graduate® students in a way that changes their lives forever.

To Everyone Who Attended Cap & Gown 2023: Thank You!

As we celebrate our newest graduates, remember that first-generation students can move from sixth grade through college graduation and into meaningful careers because of you and your support! And we couldn’t do it without the help of our corporate supporters: Hamilton Zanze, Dodge & Cox, Accenture, Adobe, KPMG, BSSP, Millennium Career Advantage, and GoodRx.
