Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

On November 19th, First Graduate® held it’s annual “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” career speed networking event in the offices of AppDynamics in San Francisco.

The goals of this high school career exposure event were (1) to practice their public speaking and informational interview skills with professionals, (2) to expand their network of supportive professionals and potential mentors, and (3) to be exposed to professionals in career fields that interest them as well as new career fields. In small groups (3-5 students), students rotated around the room and had career conversations with 4 professionals throughout the evening. Through these conversations, students learned about the variety of career paths and opportunities available with a college degree.

This year we had an amazing turn out – 30 volunteers networked with 80 over First Graduate® students. The feel in the room was electric and we felt bad having to bring the event to a close at the end of the night.

A big thank you to Ubisoft, who participated in the networking event and donated (what can only be described as a crate of) videogames that students were able to take home at the end of the night.

We would also like to send a special shout out to our gracious hosts (and event participants) AppDynamics – we couldn’t have done it without you.
