Summer Opportunities Fair

Throughout the year we really push our high school students to think about what kind of career they want to pursue with their college degrees. This begins with exposing students to different career paths, introducing them to a diverse group of professionals, and finally helping them take the plunge by applying to summer internships and jobs that might be of interest to them.

At our annual Summer Opportunities Fair, held recently at James Denman High School, 25 local organizations set up tables and chatted with our high school students about summer internships, including working at the San Francisco Zoo, researching at Stanford University, joining a range of departments for City and County of San Francisco, and computer coding camps.

The fair is a great chance (and for many students their first) to put into practice all the networking skills they’ve learned and to finally start handing out the resumes they’ve spent so long perfecting.

We (and all were so proud of our students) for the professionalism they showed at the event.

Thank you to all our partner organizations who came to the event, and best of luck on picking the right candidates – you’ve got a tough job!
