Donor Highlight: The Hamilton/Paul Giving Circle

Earlier this year, Mark Hamilton and Lauri Paul started the Hamilton/Paul Giving Circle through which they, their family, friends, and colleagues pledged to raise $60,000 a year for 10 years for First Graduate.

The giving circle officially launched with an intimate breakfast event where a panel of First Graduate® students and alumni spoke to invited guests about their experiences and answered questions. David L. Kirp, the James D. Marver professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, member of the Barack Obama Presidential Transition Team and a noted author on education policy, also spoke at the event about the impact and importance of programs like First Graduate. David is himself a First Graduate® donor and a first in family college graduate. Board members Seth Steinberg, Renu Agrawal, and Hanish Rathod attended as did our co-founder, Ann-Eve Hazen.

Thanks to all the members of the Hamilton/Paul Giving Circle for their generous support – because of them 12 students will receive free coaching from the time they enroll with First Graduate® in sixth grade through the time when they graduate from college!

Giving circles like this are a wonderful way for people of like minds to pool their resources and make a big impact on the lives of our students. And, they are actually easy to set up.Your goal can be as modest or ambitious as your vision–your support makes all the difference in the world to our students and is so appreciated! All of this support-driven success is only possible because of the contributions from our donors. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of this month to sustain the positive impact we have on our First Graduate® students in a way that changes their lives forever.
