Student Recruitment @ Everett Middle School

This week our Emerging Scholars Team headed to Everett Middle School to introduce the 6th grade students there to First Graduate. The 166 students in attendance listened intently as our Program Director Amph! outlined how students can apply and what they can expect at each step of our 10-year program to help them become the first in their families to graduate from college. Students were very engaged and had tons of questions – just check out the pictures below.

The deadline for new student applications (current 6th graders) is Friday, March 6th.

In order to help these students complete their applications, First Graduate® staff are also holding a series of Application Workshops at Everett. During these workshops, students will have the chance to sit down one-on-one with a staff member for about 15 minutes to get help drafting their personal statement, put the finishing touches on their application, and ask any last-minute questions. The next Application Workshop will take place at Everett Middle School on Thursday, February 12th @ 11:00 AM.

First Graduate® will also be presenting to middle school students at James Denman Middle School on February 18th.

First Graduate’s Alumni: Beating the Odds

All of this support-driven success is only possible because of the contributions from our donors. That’s why we’re offering you the opportunity to support our generation-changing organization with donations to our end-of-fiscal year campaign. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of this month to sustain the positive impact we have on our First Graduate® students in a way that changes their lives forever.

Cap & Gown

To Everyone Who Attended Cap & Gown 2023: Thank You!

As we celebrate our newest graduates, remember that first-generation students can move from sixth grade through college graduation and into meaningful careers because of you and your support! And we couldn’t do it without the help of our corporate supporters: Hamilton Zanze, Dodge & Cox, Accenture, Adobe, KPMG, BSSP, Millennium Career Advantage, and GoodRx.

Ramadan Mubarak!

Despite how difficult they can be to get, it’s impossible to overstate the importance of scholarships. Especially for a first-generation student, a scholarship can be the difference between being able to go to college and not.
